I am Ségolène Richardeau and I work in Human Resources at Ayvens (formerly ALD Automotive Luxembourg) for 25 years. I currently hold the position of Human Resources Director.
What was your professional career at Ayvens?
I started first as a Sales Assistant and then as Executive Assistant. Then, on the occasion of the ISO 9001 certification, I became Quality Manager for Belgium and Luxembourg. I then became Head of General Services, and since 2018, I have only been doing human resources.

What are your responsibilities as Human Resources Director?
My role as HR Director is to ensure that all departments are properly sourced with the right skills. So it's about recruiting in the most efficient way possible. That's why we all do them ourselves.
My mission is also to train our teams, in order to develop the skills of people who are already in position.
Talent must also be retained through loyalty programs, not to mention providing a work environment in which everyone is comfortable and can give their best in their work.
Then, we have an onboarding program that is the same for all employees and takes place over several months. And, throughout the employee's career, whether at their request or at the request of their manager, everyone has access to training to develop their skills, whether internally or externally. And each year, a budget is allocated to continuing education.

What is the HR initiative that you are most proud of?
The most popular HR initiative is our system of leave buy-back formulas offered to all employees. We belong to a banking group, but our businesses are not banking at all, so we do not benefit from the banking agreement. We have therefore put in place various formulas to buy back leave. And there is also the possibility of earning additional vacation days every year.
I also think that, in terms of flexibility, employees really appreciate our variable hours, especially cross-border workers because it allows them to have a very good balance between private and personal life.
What has motivated you to work for Ayvens for more than 25 years?
I would say that it is mainly the pleasure of being around my colleagues, whether they are my team or all the other colleagues in the company. As a Human Resources Director, it is important to know well or at least to have a certain proximity with all your employees. I like my work because I like to be of service, and at Ayvens, we all share the desire to achieve our goals and missions together.
