Senior General Accountant – IFRS & Lux GAAP F/M - LU879960

Morgan Philips is supporting an international financial services organisation based in Luxembourg in the recruitment of an experienced Senior General Accountant F/M.

The successful candidate will be responsible for general accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.

This position requires a hands-on accounting professional with strong knowledge of IFRS and Luxembourg GAAP, capable of working independently while collaborating closely with international Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, provisions and reconciliations.

• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting closings.

• Ensure compliance with IFRS and Luxembourg GAAP accounting standards.

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany transactions.

• Support the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory accounts.

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls.

• Coordinate with external auditors and international Finance teams.

• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting processes.

• Contribute to accounting-related projects and the continuous improvement of financial operations.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in General Accounting, ideally within financial services, banking or a FinTech environment.

• Strong practical knowledge of IFRS and Luxembourg GAAP.

• Solid experience in general ledger accounting, month-end closings and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Good understanding of Luxembourg statutory accounting requirements.

• Experience working in an international financial environment.

• Proficiency in Excel and accounting or ERP systems.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.

• Fluent English is required. Additional languages would be an advantage.
