Lower School Teaching Assistant (7 months contract)

Brief description:

The Lower School Teaching Assistant is a resource person for students, colleagues and parents. The Lower School Teaching Assistant is expected to be aware of the philosophy, goals, objectives and policies of the school and to co-ordinate personal and programme goals and objectives within this framework.

Profile: (training, experience, skills and aptitudes necessary to do the job)

·      Previous successful experience working in a school setting with children and students ages 3-8 yrs strongly preferred;

·        Experience working in a multi-cultural environment;

• Interest in recent developments in primary education;
• Experience in working in a collaborative learning environment;

·        Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment;

• Enjoy working with students, staff and parents;
• Minimum of a secondary school diploma;
• Fluency in English (near native level);

·        Good general computer skills (MS Office programmes, internet searches, email), confidence in working with different pieces of technology (tablets, digital cameras, etc);

·        Understanding of and experience working with students who are English Language Learners;

• Actively engaged in the wellbeing of students.
