Data & AI Developer - Analyst

Palana is a leading Advisory, Managed Services and Technology firm based in Luxembourg, specialising in the investment fund and banking industry and broader financial services sector. We support leading asset managers, fund administrators and financial institutions across a wide range of asset classes.

As a Data & AI Developer, you will join a team where developers and financial analysts work side by side on the automation platform that runs Palana's fund data operations and regulatory reporting. You will work alongside experienced colleagues on Python automations, FastAPI web applications and Azure-hosted services, combining software development, data engineering and financial domain knowledge. The code you write processes client regulatory data, so reliability, testing and clear documentation matter from your first week.

You need to be curious, structured and comfortable reading code you did not write. To be successful, you will have strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on mindset and a genuine appetite for learning both new technologies and the investment fund industry they serve.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python automations on the team's automation platform, progressively taking on greater ownership under the guidance of a senior developer

• Build and extend FastAPI web applications that expose the team's automations to internal users and clients, including authentication and single sign-on

• Write and optimise SQL queries, and design the data models that automations and reporting rely on

• Work within the team's GitHub workflow: branches, pull requests, code review, automated tests and documentation, using AI coding assistants where relevant and critically reviewing their output

• Work with the team's financial analysts to translate business and regulatory requirements into technical specifications, and support testing and release validation

• Investigate and resolve production issues, and contribute to proposing improvements to the platform's reliability and performance

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline

• 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar role, including internships, or a strong academic focus on software development

• Working knowledge of Python and SQL, with an interest in web development and cloud platforms

• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices (branches, pull requests)

• Fluency in spoken and written English

• Curious, proactive and hands-on mindset, with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn

• Right to work in Luxembourg (EU/EEA national or valid work permit)
