Are you passionate about innovation and European collaboration? Do you want to contribute to Luxembourg’s economic development by helping companies access EU research and innovation funding? Are you ready to join a multidisciplinary, professional and human-sized team? Then this opportunity could be for you!
As part of its mission, Luxinnovation supports companies and research organisations in accessing European collaborative funding through programmes such as Horizon Europe. To strengthen this dynamic team, we are recruiting a European Funding Advisor – Industry (m/f). Your main mission will be to promote European research, development and innovation (RDI) programmes, support applicants in preparing competitive proposals and ensure Luxembourg’s strategic positioning within European institutions.
As a European Funding Advisor, you will serve as the National Contact Point (NCP) for Horizon Europe Cluster 4 – Industry, EU Missions, and the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Facility. These areas attract applications from both public research institutions and private sector players, including traditional companies and societal enablers, making this role critical for fostering collaboration and innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote Luxinnovation’s services and Horizon Europe funding programmes, notably by organising training sessions and webinars, publishing articles, setting up information campaigns, and monitoring deadlines for calls for proposals.
Support the participation of Luxembourg research organisations and companies in European research programmes, notably in Cluster 4 – Industry, EU Missions, and New European Bauhaus (NEB) Facility, either by advising and supporting project leaders in putting together European funding applications or by initiating synergies between companies and national public research organisations to develop collaborative public-private projects.
Monitor the evolution of European policy in the field of RDI and draft recommendations (opportunities/positioning) for Luxembourg aligned with national interests and priorities.
Represent and defend the interests of Luxembourg in specific events and working groups within the European Commission.
Maintain excellent relationships with international stakeholders, as well as other European national contact points, and promote the know-how and skills of Luxembourg’s companies and research organisations among them.
Participate in writing, editing and submitting projects for Luxinnovation and contribute to the management of European projects in which Luxinnovation is involved.
This position is based in Belval, Luxembourg, with up to 30% business travel, primarily to Brussels.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s or PhD in advanced materials, quantum technologies, sustainable construction, or civil engineering.
Proven experience in managing EU-funded research and innovation projects, ideally within a research organisation, consulting firm or EU institution.
Solid understanding of the industrial landscape. Familiarity with Luxembourg’s RDI ecosystem is a strong asset.
Excellent writing, analytical and presentation skills.
