Nominated Person Ground Operations Manager

The Nominated Person Ground Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, compliance, and performance of all ground operations within the organization. This role ensures that activities are conducted in full accordance with applicable European aviation regulations, internal management systems, and industry best practices.
Acting as a key postholder, the position holder oversees the safety, efficiency, and consistency of ground operations across the network, while supporting the company’s operational objectives in the business aviation sector. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders to maintain high standards of service delivery and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
As NPGO, the Employee will have to handle the following topics:
Authority
- Ensures adherence to processes in line with Jetfly Aviation S.A.’s management system, and consistency with the other AOCs across the group
- Has full authority and responsibility for the Ground Operations department.
- Defines and implements the procedures and standards for a safe and efficient ground handling.
- He/She ensures the safe, punctual and economic operation of all company flights by establishing or contracting out professional ground handling.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises the Ground Ops processes: Ensures the dispatch and handling operations are performed in a safe, punctual, reliable and efficient way.
- Centralize, negotiate, and manage all third-party Ground service contracts for the different AOC's.
- Ensures that all legal requirements and provisions of the AOC relating to dispatch and handling operations are strictly observed.
- Ensures that personnel respect specific processes at all times according to internal procedures defined in the operations manuals.
- Ensures that the relevant training is given according to personnel according to company standards.
- Is responsible to the Accountable Manager for handling contracts.
Specific Tasks related to the Management System
- Ensures by regular checks, that personnel are being kept up-to-date and properly instructed and that they are aware of their responsibilities and the relationship of such duties to the operation as a whole.
- Defines the required standards for subcontractors.
- Performs initial subcontractor evaluations and defines required standards.
- Support and accompany audits in coordination with Compliance Department
- Identifies trends out of the reporting system and takes adequate measures together with the Safety Manager.
- Performs a periodical data evaluation summarizing all records and suggested measures
Sustainability
- Develop and maintain the company’s sustainability policy in line with evolving regulations
- Ensure compliance with environmental requirements, including emissions schemes (e.g. RefuelEU Aviation) and related taxes
- Monitor and report Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) consumption
- Support the integration of sustainability objectives into ground operations
Supply chain OPS and cleaning / aircraft restocking services
- Manage and oversee the OPS Supply Chain team responsible for onboard catering (beverages and snacks), ensuring efficient ordering and delivery processes
- Define and monitor key performance indicators to drive performance and continuous improvement
- Challenge and support the team to enhance service quality, cost efficiency, and operational reliability
- Manage cleaning service contracts across all operating airports
- Ensure standardization and consistency of ground service practices across the network
Profile
- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in aviation, sustainability, engineering, and/or a proven experience in a similar position.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Solid negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Good understanding of, or strong interest in, sustainability and environmental topics
- Demonstrated team management and leadership skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical mindset with a results-driven approach
- Curious, proactive, and solution-oriented
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English
