Legal Advisor
Tasks :
- Manage the Bank’s routine legal matters and act as a trusted legal advisor by providing well-researched analyses, pragmatic guidance, and high-quality written opinions.
- Prepare, assess, and take part in discussions relating to a broad spectrum of financial, commercial, and contractual arrangements, including financing transactions, market documentation, and service-related agreements.
- Conduct ongoing legal and regulatory monitoring to evaluate new or emerging requirements and determine their potential implications for the Bank’s activities, at both European and domestic levels, including guidance issued by supervisory and regulatory authorities.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the Bank’s internal legal and compliance frameworks by drafting and revising policies, rules, and procedures to ensure continued alignment with applicable regulations.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives by supporting internal projects, delivering or assisting with training sessions, and participating in initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and internal processes.
- Perform any additional legal or regulatory responsibilities assigned by the department in response to evolving business or regulatory needs.
Profile :
Master’s degree in Law obtained within the European Union; additional academic training in Luxembourg law, such as the CCDL, is considered an advantage.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, proficiency in French is a strong asset.
- Approximately three to five years of professional experience gained within a legal environment, preferably in the banking or financial services sector, with a focus on banking and financial law.
- Strong understanding of European and national banking and financial regulatory frameworks, including EMIR, MiFID II, PSD2, CRD VI and DORA, as well as familiarity with Luxembourg corporate and investment banking activities.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities effectively, and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, demonstrating a proactive, solution-driven mindset and a strong team spirit.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration in a multicultural and international context, both internally and with external stakeholders.
- Strong professional ethics, with a pronounced sense of discretion, confidentiality, integrity and transparency.
