Head of Commercial Banking - Luxembourg

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for launching the bank's commercial banking efforts in Luxembourg, including strategic planning, loan and deposit growth, risk management, and portfolio performance. This role involves growing a team, providing leadership on origination, ensuring compliance with regulations, and working with internal and external stakeholders to grow the Bank’s business in Luxembourg.


You will be experienced at managing key client and stakeholder relationships, delivering superior customer outcomes and will act as a Key Account Executive for our clients in Luxembourg.


Primary Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a network of clients and intermediaries for the Company's loans in Luxembourg (advisors, investors, banks);

• Identify and develop new business opportunities for loan and deposit products;

• Engage with prospective clients to understand their financial needs;

• Generate a portfolio of high quality loans with Luxembourgish borrowers;

• Work with Product team to design products fitting the Luxembourg market:

• Prepare and structure deals such that client needs match the Company’s risk appetite;

• Build a broad network that will increase the perceived presence of RiverBank in Luxembourg;

• Work with other Company teams towards closing of the loans and deposits sourced;

• Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service;

• Achieve and exceed sales targets on a monthly and quarterly basis;

• Provide regular sales reports and updates to management; and

• Stay up-to-date with the latest loan products and market trends and feed back into the organisation.


Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive knowledge of lending and financing concepts, practices, and procedures;

• Proven track record in sales management and relationship management in Financial Services industry;

• Ability to meet sales targets;

• Strong financial and credit analysis skills;

• Experience in negotiating loan terms and underwriting complex loans;

• Ability to manage both large-scale and individual loan portfolios;

• Self-starter;

• Excellent interpersonal skills;

• Excellent planning and organizing skills;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations;

• Show initiative, high energy and a desire to succeed, while demonstrating enthusiasm and passion to inspire employees throughout the organization; and

• Microsoft Office Suite.
