Why This Role Matters
As part of the Innovation Center in Luxembourg, this Tread & Cavity Engineer role is key to developing high-quality tires for the EMEA consumer replacement market. You will influence tire performance from the earliest feasibility studies through to manufacturing, using advanced design and predictive tools. Your work will directly shape product performance, ensure accuracy in mold design, and support successful industrialization, making you a central contributor to product innovation and quality.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with your project team to assess feasibility and define design strategies aligned with performance targets.
- Use Catia-based tools to design and optimize tread and cavity geometry, respecting guidelines and achieving required tire characteristics.
- Apply advanced predictive modelling tools to understand and optimize the impact of design choices.
- Manage the mold hardware order process and liaise with Global Mold Engineering and mold plants to ensure manufacturability.
- Act as the key expert for all tread and cavity-related questions and support analysis of test results and correlation to predicted performance.
What You’ll Bring
- Master’s degree in mechanical, Physics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (required).
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Experience in product and/or process development, with interest in the tire or automotive industry.
- Strong proficiency in Catia V5 and solid understanding of solid mechanics; experience with Finite Element Modeling.
- Ability to manage projects, work independently, and collaborate within a multicultural team.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, stress tolerance, and adaptability; proactive mindset.
- Familiarity with statistical tools and willingness to travel occasionally.
