We are currently looking for a:
Accounting Manager
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will:
Key responsibilities:
Manage a team of Senior Accountants & Accountants
Take ownership of a private equity/real estate investment portfolio
Review interim and annual financial statements
Manage distribution mechanisms and repayments within short delays
Analyse financial and fiscal data to create internal and/or external financial reports and statements (e.g.: variance analysis)
Resolve complex accounting technical issues when they arise
Review tax provisions & tax returns with the oversight of the Tax Compliance Director
Be involved in transfer pricing discussions with the oversight of the Tax Compliance Director & GS Tax
Take the lead in communication with different teams internally, with various divisions of Goldman Sachs, but also, any other stakeholders involved on various investments (i.e.: auditors, JV Partners, Asset Managers, Property Managers; etc.)
Onboard new joiners and promote best accounting practice
Build a strong synergy with peers within the team & from other departments in order to enhance a collaborative environment
Coach, mentor and develop team members (Senior Accountants & Accountants)
Participate actively in Board Meetings, and have several SPV board memberships
Be involved in the set-up phase of new investments, and follow-up during the lifecycle of the investments (M&A, restructurings, IPOs, full exit; etc.)
Supervise and coordinate ad-hoc projects
Coordinate/propose new developments within the existing technology, and play an active role in the implementation of new systems and tools, bringing a tech-oriented mindset and contributing as part of the implementation team
The profile:
Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or equivalent
At least 8 years of relevant Luxembourg work experience either in accounting, audit and/or financial control with strong exposure to private debts investments
Comprehension and management of complex international corporate and finance structures
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Proven experience in financial services, international accounting, tax or trust environment
Team-player with a hands-on mentality
Ability to work independently and within a team
Strong understanding of accounting techniques and procedures
Strong communication and leadership skills
Strong mentoring and training skills
Pro-active and service-minded work ethics
Detail oriented and flexibility to respond to and adapt to changes
Proactively seeking opportunities for the development and / or improvement of processes
Strong command of excel
