Postdoctoral Researcher in Process Simulation Engineering for Carbon Dioxide Removal
Your role
- Modelling of selected physical and chemical engineering processes and their necessary adaptions to reduce or remove carbon dioxide
- Life cycle and economic assessment of the selected carbon dioxide removal technologies
- Creation of a decision support tool
- Maintain clear documentation and version control for models and results
- Data analysis, figure preparation, manuscript and report drafting and presentation of results at international conferences
- Interacting and presenting to stakeholders
Your profile
- PhD in process or chemical engineering or a related field
- Strong demonstratable experience with at least one simulator: Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, gPROMS, or similar modeling software
- Proven ability to build steady-state models
- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, gas flows, adsorption, absorption
- Experience with optimization, sensitivity analysis and scenarios
- Knowledge of Python or similar for handling data, automating tasks and visualizing data
- Proficiency in English
Desirable skills:
- Experience of techno economic modelling
- Experience of life cycle assessments
- Familiarity with report and manuscript writing
- Proficiency in French, German and/or Luxembourgish
