About the Role
At ISL, learning is deeply human. We believe in creating spaces where students feel seen, heard, and inspired to take ownership of their learning. We are currently seeking a passionate and reflective French Language A Teacher -Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP)- to join our vibrant learning community in Luxembourg.
As a French Language A Teacher, you will guide students in developing a rich understanding of language, literature, and identity through both the IB MYP and DP frameworks. You will design meaningful, inquiry-driven experiences while preparing older students for the academic rigor and independence of the Diploma Programme.
At our school, learning is driven by curiosity, inquiry, and hands-on experimentation. We are looking for a teacher who sees teaching as relational, creative and purposeful.
What You'll Do
As our French Language A Teacher, you will
● Design and facilitate engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences in French Language A across MYP and DP
● Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary, concept-based, and innovative learning experiences
● Teach and support learners in developing advanced literacy, critical thinking, and literary analysis skills
● Prepare learners for IB assessments, including MYP and DP internal and external assessments (oral and written)
● Create inclusive, differentiated learning environments that support diverse learners
● Foster learner agency, voice, and ownership of learning
● Use assessment and feedback intentionally to guide progress and growth of learners
● Build strong, respectful relationships with learners that promote wellbeing and a sense of belonging
● Contribute actively to a reflective, collaborative professional culture
● Using a Learning Management System to organize course materials, support collaboration, and engage students.
● Contributing to the wellbeing and pastoral life of the school, including serving as a student advisor.
● Creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture where every learner feels valued and supported.
● Taking active part in the vibrant life of the school — from parent evenings to community events to leading beyond-the-classroom activities.
● Engaging in personal professional growth and bring fresh ideas into the classroom.
● Engage with AI effectively in guiding learners by having a human-centered mindset, promoting ethical principles and responsible use, and providing the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to create and use AI to complement their education.

Profile: (training, experience, skills and aptitudes necessary to do the job)
● Proven success teaching French Language A within the IB programme (or French as a first language)
● Able to design engaging, inquiry-based learning aligned with IB philosophy
● Able to create inclusive, differentiated learning experiences for diverse learners
● Experienced in fostering student agency, voice, and ownership of learning
● Able to use assessment and feedback effectively to support student progress
● Experienced in building positive, respectful relationships that support wellbeing and belonging
● Proven skills in effective collaboration and contributions to a reflective, innovative learning culture
● A passion for inquiry-based, concept-based, and project-based learning.
● Confident in integrating technology-supported learning into the classroom.
● Able to demonstrate AI Literacy skills: understand AI principles, explore AI uses, direct AI effectively, evaluate AI outputs, use AI responsibly
● A strong commitment to student wellbeing and holistic development.
● At least two years of successful teaching experience, ideally within the IB MYP framework.
● Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in French Language and Literature or a related field (Master's preferred).
● Valid teaching qualification or certification required.
● Fluency in English (near-native level).
● Experience working in an international school setting is an advantage.
