How will you contribute?
The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety policies, ensuring compliance with health and environmental regulations, and promoting a safe workplace culture. She/he will Lead a team of 3 HSE professionals and work within the Operations service. She/he will conduct risk assessments and provide training to employees to minimize workplace hazards. The HSE Team Leader will define plans and set day-to-day operational objectives for the team. She/he will adapt work plans to deal with new or changing demands. She/he will maintain steady workflow and productivity and make decisions to resolves issues. She/he communicates with parties within and outside of area of work, which may include internal and external constituents. She/he will have to improve processes or tools to enhance performance of their team.

Among others, and depending on their area of activity, their duties may include:
Supervise and guide the HSE team to ensure effective operation of their activity.
Assign tasks and responsibilities and follows-up teamwork. Provide close support to team members, guide them on the execution of their job.
Ensure compliance with internal/external safety and environmental regulations. Develop, implement, and update HSE policies and procedures. Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and inspectors as required.
Lead or conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards in the workplace or unsafe conditions and behaviours. Implements corrective actions improvements to prevent recurrence.
Develop safety awareness programs and communication campaigns to ensure employees understand HSE policies.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Maintain incident reports and HSE records, including safety training, incident reports, and audits. Prepare and submit safety reports to management and relevant authorities. Keep track of safety KPIs and suggest improvements.
Monitor waste management, pollution control, and energy-saving measures. Promote eco-friendly and sustainable workplace practices.
Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, packing, and shipping goods. Ensure warehouse procedures comply with internal policies and external regulations. Monitor and optimise warehouse layout to improve space utilization and workflow.
Manages hiring, firing, performance evaluation, promotions, and rewards for direct reports with the support of and in coordination with the Head of Operations.
Ensures that the work environment of their team remains safe and healthy. Enforces and applies LISTHSE rules, alert of potential dangers and risks, and ensure their team has acquired the mandatory HSE skills established by LIST.
Education
Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
You have specialized knowledge HSE. A certification in the field as Safety officer (“travailleur désigné” Groupe C5) is highly valued.
Experience and skills
Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in HSE. Experience in research and innovation organisations or similar is an asset.
Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
Strong supervision and team management skills. Proven competencies on work organisation, knows how to define work plans, assign resources, and schedule tasks. Has a good sense of prioritisation.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to prepare documentation in line with relevant situational requirements.
Knowledge of project management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Language skills
Strong communication and presentation abilities in French and in English, in oral and in written.
