BA/PM experience in data governance
Description of the Tasks
As a member of the team and under the supervision of a team leader, the following tasks will be performed by the external service provider:
Execute and maintain the data governance implementation roadmap for eGDR domain.
Develop, document, maintain, and evolve data governance processes and workflows.
Act as a first-line contact for data governance-related requests (service desk role).
Drive the implementation and adoption of data cataloguing, metadata management, and data lineage for R&I and non-R&I data assets.
Define and support clear accountability for stewardship of DG key information assets, in line with data governance roles and responsibilities.
Promote and support tools and standards related to how data is accessed, consumed, and processed across the various programs of the Commission.
Interact and collaborate with stakeholders and users to gather requirements and provide guidance on data governance practices.
Collaborate with other business analysts, project leaders, and developers to ensure consistent implementation of data governance.
Contribute to the coordination and alignment of data governance activities at the corporate level.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices.
Sound knowledge of project management standards and methodologies (project scheduling, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance tracking).
Strong ability to write clear, structured, and concise documentation (policies, procedures, guidelines, user guides).
Ability to adapt to fast-evolving technologies in data governance and data management.
Ability to deliver business and technical presentations to diverse audiences.
Knowledge of data and reporting applications (e.g. BI tools, data platforms).
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to actively participate in technical and governance meetings.
Strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
Assets:
Experience with EC data governance processes is a strong advantage.
Experience with data catalogue and metadata management tools is a strong advantage.
Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
Knowledge of EU funding and grant management processes.
Non-technical Skills:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability, and experience in working in a team.
Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment, on multiple large projects.
Excellent Team Player.
Ability to understand, speak, and write English (C1/C2).
High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG R&I, Unit RTD.H5 contain personal and confidential data.
Specific Expertise:
At least 1 year experience as a Business Analyst / Project Manager.
At least 1 year experience with data projects (e.g. data governance, data analytics, data warehousing, reporting, data migrations, data acquisition, ...).
