Accounting Officer

The Luxembourg Stock Exchange is looking for a:

Accounting Officer

Fixed-term contract of 9 months (F/M) to start as from 1st May

We are seeking for a skilled and proactive Accounting Officer to maintain and reconcile financial bookkeeping, ensure compliance with accounting law, contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports with the required level of quality and within the required timeline.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting entries (purchases, sales, banking operations and related reconciliations, financial portfolio entries, payroll entries, general accounting entries)

• Record end of month / year accounting entries and prepare related supporting documents for control and reconciliation

• Obtain approval of payables and prepare related payments

• Prepare periodical internal reports

• Prepare VAT returns, direct tax returns and other regulatory reporting (Statec, CSSF)

• Ensure the periodical update of the budget monitoring and related reconciliations

Education and experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject matter

• Minimum 2 years of work experience

Technical competencies 

• Good MS Excel and MS Word skills

• Knowledge in Power BI is considered as an asset

• Knowledge in general accounting principles, especially LuxGAAP

• Basic knowledge of fiscal law and applicable regulatory framework

• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage L100) is considered as an asset

• Good analytical and numerical skills

• Well organized, flexible, able to prioritize and tackle multiple tasks, with attitude to teamwork

• Capable to manage internal and external clients with related communication skills

• Able to take ownership of assigned tasks and to propose solutions for improvements

• Good communication skills

Language skills 

• Full professional proficiency in French and a good proficiency in English, any other language is an asset.
