Luxinnovation’s activities notably include support to innovative startups. The Start-Up Relations team develops and manages business relationships with startups and scaleups and manages Fit 4 Start, Luxembourg’s leading startup accelerator programme. The team challenges assumptions, business plans, financials, pitch decks and team skills to help innovative ventures optimise their fundamentals and key business areas. The mission of the Start-Up Relations Advisor is to deliver customer-centric support by managing and enhancing account management practices for startups and scaleups as well as to be responsible for several initiatives such as implementing effective strategies to attract and nurture talent in collaboration with key stakeholders. In addition, the Advisor will play a key role in initiatives aimed at promoting the startup ecosystem internationally and improving the access to talent, thereby contributing to enhancing Luxembourg’s attractiveness as a compelling business location for international startups.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop account management practices for startup and scaleups:
o Design and implement tailored account management processes to support the unique needs of startups and scaleups.
o Collaborate within the team and with relevant external stakeholders to execute and refine account management strategies.
o Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline account management practices, driving continuous improvement.
o Monitor the progress of startups and scaleups, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
o Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to evaluate account management performance and outcomes, including ensuring integral documentation in the CRM system and proper data management.
- Implement an effective approach to foster talent attraction:
o In collaboration with key stakeholders, initiate and drive forward strategies and concepts to attract relevant talent to Luxembourg for startups and scaleups.
o Define personas representing the typical profiles of individuals potentially interested in an innovation driven career in Luxembourg.
o Create a tailored digital pathway, integrated with Startup Luxembourg and the national platform Work in Luxembourg, to support talent (students and qualified individuals, whether currently in Luxembourg or abroad) in advancing their careers with startups and scaleups in Luxembourg.
o Proactively create and develop additional value-adding activities to promote and enhance talent attraction.
- Innovation awareness raising amongst startups and scaleups:
o Co-coordinate and contribute to the organisation of the Luxembourg Venture Days, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and fostering collaboration with both internal and external partners.
o Participate in startup events and actively promote Luxinnovation services to enhance the awareness and engagement within the entrepreneurial community.
- Other activities:
o Manage and contribute to various additional activities of the Start-Up Relations service and strategic initiatives to be launched under the ‘From Seed to Scale Roadmap’.
Skills and qualifications
- You hold a master’s degree in economics, corporate finance, business, innovation & entrepreneurship or a related field, and demonstrate a strong interest in innovation and technology.
- You have 3-5 years relevant experience with exposure to startups and innovation.
- You have proven skills in project and/or programme management, along with profound financial, analytical, and consolidation abilities.
- Knowledge of strategic management tools (such as BMC, Lean Startup, etc.) is considered an asset.
- Fluency in Luxembourgish and English is mandatory, along with proficiency in French and German.
- You have excellent communication and writing skills and are used to have a leading role in meetings.
- You demonstrate strong organisational and planning abilities.
- You are a collaborative team player, able to work autonomously in a proactive manner.
