Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Recently founded by industry veterans with previous successful exits, and headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, in the heart of Europe.

Who we look for and what you’ll do

• You are an experienced and highly-motivated Embedded Software Engineer that has worked with Embedded Linux Systems on MPUs, bare-metal and RTOSs on MCUs and is experienced with building highly reliable embedded, mission-critical systems. Ideally, you have worked with flying robots.

• Be one of the first members of a high-performing team, designing and developing autonomous countermeasures to protect countries from aerial threats

• Design, develop and test high-performant and reliable embedded software systems that encompass sensing, processing and actuation with low latency

• Together with the hardware team, bring-up boards and systems, ensuring that all intended functional and performance requirements are met

• Troubleshoot and debug problems, ensuring that issues are addressed as they appear

• Establish CI/CD pipelines, focusing on QA aspects

• Be a team player and a mentor, being available to support the team when needed

  
  

Location: Onsite in Brussels, Belgium

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or equivalent

• Significant experience building embedded systems end-to-end (typically 6+ years).

• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python

• Experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto) and bare-metal/RTOS embedded systems

• Experience with Device Drivers and User-Space Embedded Applications development

• Experience with implementing and maintaining CI/CD processes

• Proficient with System Design, designing complex, multi-processor systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the PX4 Flight Controller or other flight controllers

• Proficient in Rust

• Ideally, experience with Qualcomm, NVIDIA or Ambarella chipsets

• Experience with multi-core optimization and lock-free constructs

• Experience with server communication (REST, gRPC, etc.)

• Experience with cameras and image sensors
