R&D Laboratory Technician

Location: Onsite in Brussels, Belgium

Who we look for and what you will do

You are an experienced and motivated R and D Laboratory Technician with strong hands on expertise in prototyping and assembling electronic and electro mechanical products. Ideally, you have collaborated closely with design engineers in technically driven environments.

Your responsibilities include

• Prototyping, assembling and building electronic and electro mechanical components
• Supporting engineering teams in the development of new products
• Soldering, assembling and repairing electronic boards
• Supporting board bring up activities and test setups for R and D purposes
• Maintaining, organizing and structuring the R and D laboratory
• Providing constructive feedback to design teams on assembly feasibility
• Designing simple jigs and fixtures, including use of 3D printing
• Supporting the design and operation of test jigs and measurement setups

Minimum Requirements

• Technical diploma or equivalent qualification
• Excellent hands on experience in electronics, cabling and mechanical assembly
• Experience in soldering, assembly and repair of electronic components and boards
• Understanding of ESD related topics
• Experience supporting engineering teams with product assembly feedback
• Basic knowledge of 3D printing and jig design
• Experience organizing and maintaining an R and D laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in designing or operating test jig setups
• Micro soldering and fine pitch rework experience
• Experience with CNC or lathe CAM systems
