MYP Design Teacher (Digital focus)

Join Our Learning Community at ISL!

Do you believe that every learner has unique potential, and that education should nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and global awareness?

Are you passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that empower students to make sense of the world and their place in it?  If so, we'd love to hear from you.

As a teacher in our school, you will play a key role in shaping not only what our students learn, but how they learn.  You'll design engaging, concept-driven lessons that invite curiosity, encourage reflection, and challenge students to connect learning to their own lives — locally and globally. Teachers in our Upper School will be expected to take part in the advisory programme.

About the Role

We are seeking a creative and innovative MYP Design Teacher with a strong focus on Digital Design (computer science, robotics, coding and electronics) to join our international school community in Luxembourg.

This role is ideal for an educator who believes that digital tools and technologies can empower students to become creative problem-solvers and thoughtful designers.

While the position centres primarily on Digital Design, experience with Product Design is also valued as part of the broader IB MYP Design curriculum.

In addition, experience in teaching some fundamentals of computer science including the concepts of programming, basic networking concepts as well as cybersecurity, digital safety, privacy and data would be a plus.

At our school, learning is driven by curiosity, inquiry, and hands-on experimentation.

We are looking for a teacher who enjoys guiding students through the design cycle, helping them prototype, test, iterate, and reflect while building practical design and technological skills.

What You'll Do

As our MYP Design Teacher, you will help students develop the confidence and skills to design, create, and innovate using digital technologies while also understanding the broader design process.

●    Creating inquiry-based and project-based learning experiences that connect digital technologies with authentic design challenges.

●    Teaching IB MYP Design, with a particular emphasis on Digital Design, including digital creation, design software, and technology-based problem solving.

●    Designing engaging digital design projects where students develop creative digital solutions to real-world challenges.

●    Integrating Product Design (woodworking, CAD, laser cutting, 3D printing) experiences, helping students understand prototyping, materials, and the physical design process.

●    Supporting students in developing strong design thinking and computational thinking skills, including procedural, logical, concurrent, abstract, and recursive thinking.

●    Differentiating learning so that all students can access and succeed in the curriculum, including English Language Learners.

●    Using a Learning Management System to organize course materials, support collaboration, and engage students.

●    Collaborating with colleagues to design meaningful learning experiences and share best practices.

●    Contributing to the wellbeing and pastoral life of the school, including serving as a student advisor.

●    Creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture where every learner feels valued and supported.

●    Using continuous assessment and feedback to support student growth.

●    Taking active part in the vibrant life of the school — from parent evenings to community events to leading beyond-the-classroom activities.

●    Engaging in professional growth and bring fresh ideas into the classroom.

●    Engage with AI effectively in guiding learners by having a human-centered mindset, promoting ethical principles and responsible use, and providing the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to create and use AI to complement their education.

We are keen to attract applicants from diverse backgrounds, particularly those whose nationality, identity, gender or race is currently under-represented in international education.

We are committed to safeguarding and prioritising the wellbeing of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
