Senior Data Project Manager

Overview

We are seeking a Data Project Manager to lead and deliver data-driven initiatives across the organization. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end data projects, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical execution, and driving value from data assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data projects (data platforms, BI, analytics, data migration)

• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders

• Manage project risks, dependencies, and issues, ensuring timely resolution

• Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance standards are respected throughout the project lifecycle

• Translate business requirements into data and technical specifications

• Monitor project progress, KPIs, and budget, and provide regular reporting to senior management

• Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) where relevant

• Drive adoption of delivered solutions and ensure business value realization

  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in project management, including data or IT projects

• Strong understanding of data ecosystems (data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT processes, BI tools)

• Experience working with data teams (Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists)

• Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid)

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulations (e.g., GDPR)

• Certification in project management (PMP, Prince2, Scrum Master)
