School Nurse
Permanent role, starting 24 August 2026
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Job purpose
To provide specialised practice of professional nursing that advances the wellbeing, academic success and life-long achievement of students and employees.
The School Nurse should be able to facilitate positive response to normal student development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems of students and employees; actively collaborate with relevant stakeholders, internally and externally; build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy and learning.
Main responsibilities
- To be first point of contact in any first aid situation and to contact the emergency services if the health of a student, employee or visitor indicates so.
- To offer treatment and advice to individuals, groups of students and/or employees.
- To provide mental health support to all employees and students in a safe and confidential place in times of crisis.
- To provide health education to students and employees when required.
- To be first point of contact for children, young people and parents who need health advice or information.
- To aid employees in maintaining the health and wellbeing of the students and themselves.
- To provide support and advice to parents, carers and employees on childhood illnesses and the management and control of infection and communicable diseases.
- To help carry out health assessments of all school students and employees, when necessary, eg., height, weight, blood pressure etc.
- To facilitate school-based medicals for students and employees in conjunction with local authorities.
- To facilitate occupational health issues and to liaise with staff delegation when necessary.
Who are we looking for?
- Education as a nurse and registered in Luxembourg as a nurse
- Proficient English
- A skilled communicator
- Computer literate
- Attention to detail and able to always act in strict confidence
- Understanding of official correspondence in French or German
- Following best practices
