Financial Analyst - Appraisal, planning, performance reporting
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Finance team, in the recently created Hospitality division of the Giorgetti group. Working across our diverse portfolio of hospitality, events, and cultural attractions, you will provide in-depth financial analysis and lead strategic financial planning initiatives that support key business decisions and drive performance.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Appraisal & Business Development
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making on proposed projects and investments
Develop comprehensive business plans and financial models for new ventures, expansions, and strategic initiatives
Build and maintain DCF models and perform valuations for investment appraisal and portfolio management
Budgeting, Forecasting and Planning
Prepare detailed annual budgets for approved projects and existing operations, working with operational managers to establish realistic revenue targets, cost structures, and resource requirements
Develop rolling forecasts to reflect changing business conditions and updated assumptions across hospitality, events, and museum operations
Create comprehensive cash flow projections to support working capital management and investment planning
Monitor capital expenditure against approved budgets and provide analysis on investment performance
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Prepare management reporting, board materials, and executive dashboards with insightful commentary on performance
Develop and define key performance indicators for each business area
Track KPIs and conduct variance analysis of actual performance against budget
Monitor operational costs
Other Responsibilities
Act as a strategic business partner to operational leaders, collaborating closely to translate business strategies into detailed financial projections and providing ongoing financial support and insights
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and research as required for strategic projects
Requirements
5-8 years of relevant experience, ideally in an FP&A role in the hospitality sector or in Big 4 Corporate Finance/Transaction Services
Strong technical skills in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and DCF analysis
Solid accounting knowledge and ability to interpret financial statements (actual bookkeeping not required)
Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial planning software and business intelligence systems is a plus
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Strong communication skills with ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Solid financial technical skills are essential; experience in hospitality, events, leisure, or cultural sectors constitutes a significant advantage
Knowledge of financial consolidation processes is an advantage though not essential
